Day1: Shanghai (-)
Meet your guide and driver in your hotel lobby by 9am and begin the tour of the day.
Your tour begins from the Yu Garden, a famous classical garden, finished in 1577 by a government officer of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) named Pan Yunduan. Yu in Chinese means pleasing and satisfying, and this garden was specially built for Pan's parents as a place for them to enjoy a tranquil and happy time in their old age. The pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and cloisters all have unique characteristics. And you will also visit the City God Temple just aside the Yu Garden.
Then you will visit The Jade Buddha Temple, founded in 1882 with two jade Buddha statues imported to Shanghai from Burma by sea. These were a sitting Buddha (1.95 meters tall, 3 tonnes), and a smaller reclining Buddha representing the Buddha's death.
Lunch at your own expense.
In the afternoon, you will be taken to the Jin Mao Tower, the second tallest building in China. Go up in elevator to the 88th floor and enjoy a panoramic view of Shanghai. Next, you will take a Huangpu River Cruise, admire the beauty of Shanghai on the river and between the skylines.
The tour will finish here and you will be transferred back to your hotel.
Day2: Shanghai (-)
Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and start your day from visit to the Zhujiajiao Water Town. As you drive, your guide will introduce you to the history of Zhujiajiao, which dates back to at least the Song dynasty, and explain how the village grew wealthy on trade, as goods flooded through its web of canals to the river, and from there to the coast.
Soak up the atmosphere as you stroll over some of the village's 36 bridges, capture snapshots of charming alleyways and ancient stone houses, and visit landmarks from the Kezhi Garden to temples and memorial halls. Relax in a boat as you cruise the old canals that have led some to call Zhujiajiao the Venice of Shanghai.
Lunch at your own expense.
In the afternoon, back to the city of Shanghai and visit Tianzifang, arts and crafts enclave that has developed from a renovated traditional residential area in the French Concession area.
Later you will watch a fantastic acrobatic show in ERA.
