I scheduled this tour for 7.30p so that I could enjoy the colosseum at dusk. We got there and started the tour, but it was a walking tour first. We did not get to the colosseum until an hour and ten min later, starting our tour an hour and half later. I enjoyed the first part, but thought this tour was perfectly timed with the light to see the colosseum at night, but it was night. The guides that spoke were great, I’ll give them that. Also. The tour leaves right at the time it is scheduled, if you try to contact the tour operator, they don’t respond. We were 4 min late and missed our 7.30p time. Luckily, they let us join in at 8p, but part of our group left and didn’t get to go in at all :/
Unforgettable. Informative. Amazingly uncrowded way to see the Colosseum. We loved being on the arena floor. Thank you for an excellent experience.
Horrible Don’t loose your money. You can’t see nothing. It is a shame. It is a fraude. Don’t loose your money.
Special thanks to our guide. The tour was interesting and we had a good time. Learned some facts about Rome. I recommend to take a night tour it’s something different.
Ok, both parts of the tour were informative. I had hoped to go into the Senate area to look closer at the temples. I had hoped to, no kidding, walk through the bottom portion of the Colosseum, and while we saw the gladiator entrance and a well established path leading to a replica elevator, we didn't get to see what I'd hoped. Honestly, it's a good tour, but go during the day. You'll see as much.
This was the second time I had visited the colosseum and I was a little disappointed on this tour. The first half was great, but the second half as we had to wait around for quite some time was a let down as the light had gone making it impossible to see the historic building. The tour inside had changed a lot and I felt the visual presentation was not so authentic. I would definitely suggest to do this tour during the day, not the night.
The tour was spectacular and our guide Fabio was excellent. Being the first group of the evening was extra special. Thank you for adding to my adventures. Octavia Toso
Loved this tour in the fact there was almost no one else there! No cues, no waiting. I enjoyed the history told but not over done
We had two great and knowledgeable tour guides. Started at the Roman forum ruins and ended in the Colosseum after sunset. Almost no other people in the colosseum and watching the sun set and the lights come on from inside the colosseum was awesome. Loved it!
Without masses of people, we had access to all areas of the Colosseum including underground and left at nightfall, a most enjoyable way to learn about the events that occurred here through time. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and began the tour discussing the Roman Forum and walked those areas before entering the Colosseum.
This was an excellent tour. Going at night meant you didn't have the other 3,000 people in the way, we only saw two other groups of about 15 people each when we were there. The tour guides are very knowledgeable, and welcome questions. The only thing that wasn't very clear was the Roman Forum part of the tour - you start with this and walk around the Wedding Cake and down the main street - Via Dei Fori Imperiali to the Colosseum, stopping at various points next to the Forum and lots of very interesting information is given but you don't get to go inside the Forum and you don't get a ticket to do this the next day by yourself either. The Forum bit took about an hour and the Colosseum bit takes about an hour. Can't stress enough how nice this was without the hordes of people. Managed to get a skip the line ticket for the Forum with a tour the next day for €20 per person. We just hung around near the already massive queue at 9am and someone approached us, we only paid a deposit in-case they were dodgy and paid the rest the next day when we found our guide just before we went in.
Overall the experience was average. But we spend hour walking around other buildings which I was unawares as I thought tour was just for coliseum. Tour guide from Trojan market to coliseum was brilliant! Once we eventually got to coliseum the tour guide was very bland and didn’t capture the imagination of the amphitheatre. We started this tour at 21:00 and it finished at 24:00 Wish we knew that we were going to walk around other sites for hour before coliseum as we had been walking all day and feet were already sore. On another note, no water provided whatsoever not even available to buy. So overall not pleased with amount of money spend, but good concept.
My family had 2 tour guides - first one for the forum was AMAZING!! Got to the Colosseum which is very dark - arena floor not well lit and photos did not come out. Our tour guide was not very good. My advice is to do a very early morning tour to avoid the heat. Book it well in advance!!
Fabio was incredible. The tour was thorough, engaging and enlightening. The Colosseum at night was fantastic and magical.
It was a lot of fun and had some good information. The tour guide was very informative and I would recommend going at 7 because you get some of the day light still. Need to see it during the day as well
What a great experience! My wife and I did the 8:30 tour which started just before sunset so we got some pretty spectacular pictures throughout the night. Our guide was wonderful and gave us so much history, while developing rapport with everyone in the group. He knew all 27 of our names before we started! Why did I not rate this 5 stars? First, the meeting place was not clear - my receipt said one thing and the app(which is not great) said another. Guess which one I tried first? Yep, the wrong one; luckily we left ourselves enough extra time. Secondly, while our initial guide was wonderful, we switched guides when we arrived at the Colosseum, and the second no one could understand. A little continuity would have been great. Other than these two small things it was a fabulous experience.
Great tour with two brilliant guides who gave great insight and knowledge along the way. Going at night,s Ewing everything lit up and being able to take your time and soak up the experience without rushing was definitely the right decision. Couldn’t recommend this enough!!
The guide was informative and knowledgeable. Excellent tour and will definitely use viator to book any visits in the future
Highly recommend the evening tour, you have the whole place to yourself! Excellent tour guides. Really enjoyed it.
When you stop to think about the history and the events that transpired inside of this structure, and that you are standing in the very place that it all happened, mind blowing! the guide was amazing!
This tour is excellent! It feels very private, with just a few guided tours occurring at once (maybe 150 ppl total). You can actually take pictures, and get up close without others in the way! The lighting is magnificent. And our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, and extremely pleasant!!!
We had a great tour guide....He spoke English well (but rather fast) and he was extremely informative and knowledgeable. A lot of walking and we were a bit confused on the starting point...(our error for not reading the info guide prior to walking all the way to the Colosseum) Rather cool experience to see the lights and not have the crowds for our tour. This was a highlight of our trip to Rome.
If it wasn't for the rain, it would have been even better than it was. but very informative. also less crowded at night.
This was such a unique experience! I had been to the Colosseum numerour times and wanted a different perspective when touring the area with my husband. Our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about Roman history. This is also a great tour to escape not only the crowds, but also the summer heat!
