After being picked up from your central Rio de Janeiro hotel at 9am, 10am, or 11am (depending on your chosen departure time), travel by private vehicle to Rio's colorful Santa Teresa neighborhood. Accompanied by your private guide, a professional photographer, set out to explore the artist's quarter, a hotspot for artists, writers and intellectuals, which offers a fascinating insight into Rio's diverse cultural and artistic heritage. 

Start your walking tour at the famous Selarón Stairs, the masterpiece of Jorge Selarón. Marvel at the 250 steps, covered in over 2,000 tiles collected from over 60 countries around the world, and pose by the iconic landmark as your guide snaps photos. Spend time exploring the district's lively squares and historic alleyways, and peek into the many artist's workshops and craft shops, before continuing to the Parque das Ruinas (Ruins Park) to take in the views over the city. There's just time to stop at Chácara do Céu, the former residence of Raymundo Castro Maya, before heading back to central Rio in your private vehicle.

Set out on foot to explore the city's historic center, stopping to admire the magnificent buildings and learn more about the city's long history from your guide. Along the way, see landmarks such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, Confeitaria Colombo, Municipal Theatre, Tiradentes Palace and Paco Imperial (Imperial Palace). 

Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel in the afternoon, where your guide will present you with a DVD or flash drive with your photos (optional; extra cost), or give you details of how to access your digital photos online.
