Thorsmork in a Super Jeep

On this classic day tour through Iceland's unique natural wonders, we will be driving alongside the the south coast of Iceland until we arrive at the magnificent Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Hike along a winding trail that will take you to this beautiful waterfall. Be sure to bring your camera, there will be lots of unforgettable views you will want to capture! If you want to walk behind the waterfall, please exercise caution because the ground can be jagged and damp. However, the awe-inspiring views and sounds from behind the waterfall make this journey more than worth it. Afterwards, we will proceed to a wide valley Thorsmork, which is named after Thor, who in Norse mythology was the God of Thunder. We will drive into this stunning valley, which is surrounded on three sides by tranquil streams, steep mountains, flowing rivers, vast caves and giant boulders before stopping at the remanants of a glacial lagoon at glacier of Gigjokull. Stroll around and discover the aftermath of the immense fast flowing flood, which was caused by the eruption of Eyjafjallajokull in April 2010. The eruption also destroyed a lagoon and left a blackened area. Participants can also choose to hike to the edge of the immense glacier where it slowly flows down to the lowlands from the summit of the volcano. There will also be time for you to explore the wooded surroundings and hike uphill for some unbelievably beautiful panoramic views from the top, or hike in the very scenic canyon of Stakkholtsgja which ends with a waterfall. The most famous region in Iceland for hiking is Thorsmork which is no surprise with its mind-blowing views from the peaks of mountains and the tops of hills. Visitors will get a real feel for the tremendous scale and power of mother nature's wonders. Prepared to be captivated by all the untouched nature that Iceland has to offer.
