Great food, friendly and knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended for first time visitors. Had a wonderful experience!
Amanda was our tour guide. She was amazing. The tour was fun and so much good food. I was full for the rest of the day. I definitely recommend this tour. I will do it again myself.
I came on a cruise ship and have been to Puerto Vallarta many times and was looking for something different to dofor the day. I recommend this tour! We stopped at 8 or 9 places to eat or drink the local cuisine. I liked everything we ate and drank but I surprisingly really enjoyed the agua frescas from the street vendors, all the different flavors were great and refreshing. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I also enjoyed meeting the other members of the group. I would do this tour again. I took a cab to the meeting area but others took Uber or Lyft and saved a lot of money.
This is the best food tour we've ever taken . . . even when compared to last summer's food tour in Florence, Italy and the one in San Juan, PR. Kelsey, our guide, made the tour fascinating, fun and filling! Especially enjoyed the various waters we sampled. Our ship changed our port arrival time by three hours making it impossible to begin the food tour with everyone else but Paul of Vallarta Food Tours met us at the second destination and connected us with the group and it was smooth sailing from then on! This food tour was insightful and delicious. So glad we got the cocoa tabs. Don't know what they are? Go on the food tour and find out!
We came in on a cruise ship and as we didn't see an excursion we liked, I went to Tripadvisor and read reviews about the food tour. It sounded great. We were in a group of 10 and our guide spoke perfect English. She gave running history and information as we walked from one food establishment to another. We stopped at several street taco stands, which we would probably have passed by if on our own. The food was excellent - chili relleno taco stuffed with crab, was one of my favorites. We were senior adults and worried about trekking to nine eateries, but our guide walked at a good pace for us and we had time to sit and enjoy our food at all places. We made one stop and a coffee/ice cream store and just chilled for 1/2 an hour. She was not in a hurry. As she knew we were from a cruise ship, she took us to a large market where we could do some great shopping. We visited a candy store and sampled 6-8 different items we visited a sit down restaurant and had several items to sample. At the first store she said we could have more than one taco, but she warned us, we'd be eating at nine places, so we'd be too full if we gorged ourselves. The last stop was at the arches by the ocean and we had a great drink from a street vendor who simply had a gallon of a white drink. Turned out great. The size of the group was good, they don't do over 10 on a tour. Very good introduction to eateries in Puerto Vallarta and on our next stop, we'll know some great places to take friends and they'll wonder how we were so knowledgeable about the city.
