Panama City Stadtrundfahrt Hop-on-Hop-off-Tour

First finding where to meet the bus was a great task. We opted start the bus at the mall because the other locations were not clearly listed anywhere. No one knew where the pick point was as they moved it from one location to another so the mall employees were confused. After all of that the bus broke down, we sat for over 90 minutes. Once you know the stops public transport was less hassle!

Bus was dirty, had rundown interior and audio was broken. Also, bus schedule was erratic and sporadic. Service ends about 4:00 pm.

The staff on the bus were all great, the problem is the times that the bus runs. It basically takes a full hour to catch a bus, and the timetable is not on the website. So, you may arrive at the stop at 11:10AM and have to wait until 12:00PM to begin this tour. The other problem that I had was a stop at an outlet mall -- where I was hoping that the other passengers would just be let off, instead we were all forced to disembark. You lost an entire hour waiting at the mall for the bus tour to restart. Last, the tour ends quite early with the last pick up at many stops being between 3-4PM. It just left me feeling rushed, especially when I lost a hour waiting for the tour to restart.

We enjoyed the bus and the stops, but I was not happy with the hours. We do these type of hop on hop off in most cities as it gives you a feel for the city. The only problem with this one is that it ends far to early to actually see the stops along the way.

The Hop on Hop off Tour is very good but be wary of taking it later in the day. We got stuck on the bus in heavy traffic from the Albrook Mall leaving at 4:00 pm, until we finally got back to the Multicentro Mall after 7:00 pm. A suggestion to improve service would be to have contacts at both the Miraflores Locks and Casco Antiguo, as we stopped at both these locations on the way home but no one got on the bus.

We were quite disappointed with this bus tour. Only 2 of the 5 buses ended up running causing us over an hour delay. We were stuck at a mall waiting over an hour for the bus. We saw the city by bus but were really unable to visit much due to the slow bus that seemed stuck in second gear. The company really needs to do better. We expected more and got less!

Bus broke down, another had to return to the barn and the sound system did not work on any of the buses. Buses raced from one stop to another then waited. Schedule was a joke. Save your money and take a cab to Casco Viejo.
