Ganztägige Tour zu den Ortschaften von Cotswolds in kleiner Gruppe ab Oxford
Abfahrt ist am Visitor Information Center in der Broad Street, Oxford um 10:00 Uhr. Sie beginnen den Tag mit der Besichtigung des faszinierenden Orts Grreat Tew. Von Great Tew geht es weiter nach Stow-on-the-Wold, die höchstgelegene Stadt in Cotswolds. Hier haben Sie Zeit, vorbei an honigfarbenen Gebäuden, gemütlichen Pubs, engen Gassen, interessanten Geschäften und kleinen Tea Rooms zu bummeln. Der nächste Halt ist das malerische Dorf Lower Slaughter, eines der schönsten Dörfer im nördlichen Cotswolds, das in einer fantastischen Landschaft liegt.
Der nächste Halt ist zweifellos die berühmteste Cotswolds-Ortschaft und wird regelmäßig zu einem der schönsten Dörfer in England gewählt: Bourton-on-the-Water. Es ist bekannt als das Venedig von Cotswolds und es gibt viel zu sehen und zu tun mit seinen zahlreichen Attraktionen, Geschäften, Restaurants und Tea Rooms.
Von Bourton-on-the-Water geht es weiter durch bezaubernde Cotswolds-Ortschaften nach Burford, auch bekannt als Tor von Cotswolds. In Burford genießen Sie ein Mittagessen (nicht im Preis inbegriffen) in einem Besuch in einem ausgezeichneten Cotswolds Pub, wo Sie können Sie eine traditionelles Ale auch gerne im Freien genießen können, wenn Sie möchten.
Nach dem Mittagessen fahren Sie entlang des atemberaubenden Windrush Valley und besuchen Sie versteckte Dörfer einschließlich Swinbrook und Asthall. Der Höhepunkt der Tour ist das wunderschöne Dorf und die antiken Ruinen von Minster Lovell. In diesem hübschen Dorf am Fluss Windrush gibt es jede Menge Gesteine aus Cotswold und Stroh gedeckte Häuser. Es hat aber auch den Ruf weg, dass es hier in der Region am meisten spukt. Minster Lovell ist vielleicht am besten bekannt für die Ruinen des Rathauses aus dem 15. Jahrhundert, das seit Generationen im Besitz der Familie Lovell ist.
Die Abfahrt ist am späten Nachmittag zurück zum Visitor Information Center in der Broad Street, Oxford, wo Sie um 17:00 Uhr ankommen.

Wonderful tour and I highly recommend. Small group is ideal and our guide Graham did an amazing job of taking time to get out and walk whilst telling us background story of the region and answering questions.
Had a great time with our guide, Ian. He showed us both popular and lesser known villages, so it was a great mix. He was very kind and knowledgable and it was a great day trip from Oxford.

Ian was a great guide - we were in a small group of eight ( in a small van) So he was able to take us to small out of the way charming villages, showing us how the people lived in thatched roof cottages, then driving through charming countryside before we got out for a walk around other beautiful and charming villlages. He was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and somtimes funny and a great driver through all the small out of the way roads, , giving everyone enough time for a walk, a drink and showing us where the best photo spots were. I would highly recommend this tour company .
If you have the opportunity to take this tour DO IT! It is so worth it. The villages you see are all so beautiful and unique and the guide Ian could not be more welcoming and friendly. He really goes above and beyond to make this an amazing experience and has a great way of telling the stories behind each place you visit.
It was very good! Everything as I have read from the review, particularly on the part that Ian, the guide, was from one of the villages and therefore he knows the place really well. As promised in the itinerary, Ian brought us to the lesser known villages, away from the bustle and hustle of the more popular villages. He did bring us to 1 village which was full of tourists, just so we can compare and contrast. Very relaxing walking tour around the villages, suitable for the young and the old! Btw, I had expected a much older guy...due to all the reviews read about him, his experiences, etc. But Ian turned out to be a young, energetic chap!
This tour was everything I hoped it would be and more. There were only four of us traveling in a mini van and we were able to go to small villages that our tour guide, Ian, explained would not be accessible if we took one of the big bus tours from London. Ian was incredible. He explained everything we saw and took us to a ruined manor house as an extra bonus. He lives in the Cotswolds so is a local who really knows the area. He seemed to really enjoy showing us around and even stayed to eat lunch with us in a local pub. He was the perfect tour guide and made us all feel special. I would highly recommend this small, intimate tour if you really want to experience this beautiful part of England and see some authentic, unspoiled villages.
Ian and his company are first rate. We saw so many awesome sights in the Cotswolds from a very comfortable van and on foot. You will love this tour.
