Tour durch Mexico-Stadts lokale Märkte und Teotihuacán

While both of my guides were pleasant and knowledgable, touring the markets is something that does require hours. My second guide was very late so I spent a lot of time in the markets and the trip to Teotihuacan takes an hour and a half each way. Teotihuacan is a replica, not a real pyramid. My guide told me this. It's very obvious once you look at it. I use a tour guide service so that I do not have to discover this sort of thing on my own. There was no way to know the itinerary. No details. I will never use this service again.

Market Tours - Miguel was a thorough and thoughtful guide providing articulate commentary about each of the markets we visited - location, purpose, historical context, etc. The tour gave us the chance to experience each public markets as a local would. Bonus: for those who are new to Mexico, and possibly intimidated by the public transportation options, this tour gave us a quick intro to taking the bus and the metro in between market stops which was great for travelers like us who want to take full advantage of what a city has to offer. Teotihuacan Tour - Ady was welcoming and a wealth of knowledge. For the short time at Teotihuacan not too short, but given the scale of the site you could spend half the day we came away with a decent understanding of the the pyramids and surrounding structures. There's a lot to take in. Our visits to the local artisans following the tour of Teotihuacan were also valuable and rounded out the day. We would absolutely recommend both tours, and if you have the full day, this combined Mexico City excursion.

Great tour - really two tours - one to see the markets in the city and have lunch at a local spot and the second to visit The pyramids and some local homes for drinks, crafts and dinner. I couldn’t have even manage the transport myself! Uber, taxi, bus, subway all expertly guided.

I can't say enough about Urban Adventures tours and their guides. We had a wonderful mroning with Evelyn leading us through a variety of local markets we wouldn't have found on our own. Her charming personality, energy, and historical knowledge about her home city kept us engaged throughout the morning walk. A special ending was a fabulous lunch of local delicacies at a eatery operated by her family. We met her mother, father, and husband, and by the end of the morning, felt we had made great friends in Mexico City. We were just as happy with our afternoon tour with Leon, whose enthusiasm about all of life is contagious. Our group was a little larger, and he managed to learn everyone's names, and make a personal connection to each of us. in addition to leading tours, he is an artist, clown/actor, and philosopher. On our way to Teothihuacan, he entertained us with stories about growing up in Mexico City and talked about the current state of affairs there. Our length of time at the pyramids was just enough to learn the essentials, make the climb, and imagine what it would have been like to be part of past civilizations. Afterwards, we visited the studio of artists who work with locally-mined obsidian and also had an opportunity to learn about and sample the various nectars of the agave plant before having a hearty dinner on the covered patio of a private home. Can't recommend this combo tour too much, or say enough great things about Evelyn and Leon!
