This small-group day trip to Sintra and Cascais well organized and worth the money to explore for the day. Our guide, Rodrigo, was wonderful, knowledgeable and spoke fluent English.
What a great introduction to Portugal with our wonderful tour guide, Ricardo Bento!! Others had cancelled and we had a private tour with Ricardo. We had a gorgeous day to drive to Cascais, Sintra, and see the wild coastline of the most western part of Europe. We insisted he have lunch with us and found out the best Portuguese food and drink to share. I highly recommend Ricardo and Inside Lisbon Tours.
Our guide, Nuno M was exceptional. He was a great communicator with a nice sense of humour. Our group of 8 was well informed on all the relevant sites we visited. The bus was clean, comfortable and the commentary audible. Hard Rock Cafe meeting place was easy to find and the guide punctual. We thoroughly enjoyed a full day visiting Sinatra palace, Sinatra village, the western most headland, Cascais , a quick look at Estoril and a bonus drive by the coast rather than the freeway. Highly recommend.
Great tour! Our guide Joao(John) was great, very knowledgeable and very very helpful. Our friend lost her wallet and he took us back looking for it. We had extra time to finish our tour. Great tour and great experience.
We highly suggest this tour to maximize your visit to Sinatra and Cascais. This is a heavily touristy area and the parking is impossible as well as the lines. Andrea set up the timing perfectly in getting us there, urging us to take photos later in order to get in what was a zero line at 10 am. When we left the palace, the line was over 2 hours long. We had just enough time to catch lunch in the city before the incredible coastal trip to Cascai. His commentary was outstanding and his passion for his country was touching. He cared for each of our satisfaction and when one our solo guests got separated from the group, he worked hard to find him. He called the office and they called the guest on the cell to tell him where to stay until we found him. OUTSTANDING customer service, especially knowing that if it sadly happened to me, my trip would not be ruined. MUST DO THIS TOUR, small group!!!!!
Cascais and Cabo da Roca was really nice ! Our tour guide Miguel was very knowledgeable. However, there was a heat wave alert in Sintra. We specifically chose that tour because it included a visit to Pena Palace and a drive to the other palaces. The operating tour has decided to replace the visit of Pena Palace by Queluz. Real disappointment. Instead of that, they should have offered to pay the guests the public bus 434 to access the mountain. We did not get our money’s worth for the part of the day trip. We ended up spending another day in Sintra on our own by taking the train, the bus and buying tickets to Pena Palace. It was an overall costly booking for us with your company.
Good tour. What I did not like was our guide went to Cascais first which was not the original plan. We were supposed to go to Cascais last and that way we could have enjoyed the beach!
Sintra Tour guide was excellent. He bent over backwards to be helpful. The castle and town was interesting. The van was comfortable. The intermediate stops were only slightly interesting.
This tour was fantastic! My wife and I enjoyed having a chance to go off the beaten path to visit Cascais. It was a beautiful small town. We also enjoyed getting to hear a bit of the history as well. Sintra was fantastic as well. I would say you should dress for walking or hiking as the hills in Sintra are pretty steep and the walks are long. Andrei was a great host!
Joao was a fantastic guide and was considerate when I was struggling hiking up the mountain to the Palace. Very interesting history. Sintra and Cascais were both beautiful. We had a fun group of people and it really was a great day even seeing Cabo da Roca was also a great treat. I recommend highly.
Sintra is a small overrated village. The Pena palace is extremely busy during August but the views are beautiful. Cascais is an overrated beach town. The shuttle of the van to see all the sites on the tour was useful if you don’t have a vehicle. Our Tour guide was knowledgeable and passionate about his job.
Rui was an excellent guide for our day to Sintra and Cascais. He was knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating. The free time at each site was much appreciated.
My instructor was great. We beat the morning rush to avoid the lines. The views were breath taking. Our instructor was very personable and informative. Definitely a must do!
The small group trip was perfect my cousin and me. Our driver, Vlad, a smart and entertaining guide for the day. We saw the Pena Palace early without lines. A little rainy/windy at Cabo da Roca but we are from New England so we tolerate all weather. I would highly recommend this tour especially with small numbers. No bus tours for us! We had a blast!
I loved the tour overall, just the weather was unseasonably cold and windy. It made Canada seem hot and balmy by comparison.
Amazing excursion! There were 8 people in our group from kids 11-18. Everyone had a wonderful time and our tour guide Johnny was amazing!
our guide NuNu was wonderful. i had left my camera bag in his bus and he was kind enough to meet me the next morning to return it to me.
Everything was great. A very friendly and helpful guide, nice and comfort transportation and beautiful places! The only one detail that I would change is that it will be better if there was a slightly more free time in Sintra castle to wonder around.
Tour guide Patricia from InsideLisbon tour company is awesome. She is fluent in English and very well knowledgeable in the history of Sintra.
Nuno was an excellent and engaging guide with excellent English and a passion for what he showed us. Very personable and resourceful! Best guide of our whole vacation!
Will highly recommend Inside Lisbon tour especially our tour guide Joao Ferrao. He went out of his way to showed us Lisbon and introduced us to nice Portuguese cuisine and places worth visiting. Sintra and Cascais are so beautiful and worth the visit. This trip also include views over the Atlantic Ocean- that are breath-taking. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lisbon
We had the best time on our day trip to Sintra and Cascais. Our day started in Cascais, from where our amazing guide André took us to Boca do Inferno (which wasn't officially on the tour but was incredible to see), Cabo da Roca, Sintra and we ended the tour at the Pena Palace. André even arranged lunch at a local Sintra restaurant called Dom Pipas where the food was incredible and the prices were affordable. At each stop we had enough time to explore and really experience each place which means that we didn't feel rushed. André was very knowledgeable and told us about each of the places we visited as well as things that we saw along the way. And although we returned to Lisbon a bit later than planned we didn't mind since that gave us more time to explore each stop. This tour was definitely worth every penny.
Joad Ferrao was an excellent Guide andHost with much knowledge and interesting History Would recommend a tour with Joad and the day was well timed and planned despite detours!! Great day
My wife and I took the day trip in May and our guide João was great! We left Lisbon in the morning and along the way to Pena Palace João provided us with some history of the city and the area we would be exploring. Once we arrived at the palace we were given a tour of the surrounding vegetation and a history of how the natural area came to be created. Once at the castle another brief history discussion and then time to explore on our own. We were then taken into the old town of Sintra where we could have a bite to eat (wonderful pastries, sardines, and sangria!) and see another palace. Then it was off to Cabo da Roca, the western most point of continental Europe. There was plenty of time provided for refreshments, exploring the light house along the coast, and enjoying the unique ground cover around the area. The last stop on the tour was Cascais. A nice seaside town full of shops and fantastic ice cream. Overall I don't know that we could have asked for a better guide and tour. It was nice to get out of Lisbon and see a few other parts of the area. We highly recommend this trip if the opportunity presents itself.
This was a very pleasant and fun day trip thanks to a great tour guide Ms Marelis (Mer) Perez, she was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about showing us the best views and describing every little thing we saw. Thanks Mer for a great day !! ....I also want to mention that it was a very comfortable van and a small group of people, I think it was only 8 of us .
The tour guide drove a group of about 8 people to the beautiful Pena Palace and we had the time visit the inside. We also went and had free time in the town of Sintra where we could have lunch and buy some souvenirs. Portugal is known for cork and you can find so many products made of cork. We went to Cascais (a beach town) and enjoyed an ice cream. We also stopped at Cabo de Rocas and enjoyed views of the Atlantic Ocean. The tour guide, Andrei, was very knowledgeable and eager to inform and also learn. Excellent tour with beautiful sites and excellent tour guide.
This is such a worthy experience.. Rui was the best guide! Try it when in Lisbon.. hope we come back some day
Everything about the trip was fine, but the Pena palace was closed to us because of fire hazards and the road was closed part of the way because of a bicycle race. We could have had an extra 30 minutes in Sintra village though, as we barely had time to eat lunch there.
The tour was well organized and enjoyable . We have taken this tour before but on a large bus and your mini van was so much better. Our guide was informative and did not lecture us as if we were in school. We had a great day.
would highly recommend this company. The transport was comfortable and the guides were extremely pleasant and helpful throughout the trip.
A very nice full day tour with a competent driver and guide. Interesting places and plenty of time for own avtivities.
We had a great day. Exceeded our expectations. Vlad took great care of us and was very knowledgeable about the area history and architecture.
Trip to Cascais and Sintra was excellent. Extra time to visit the Sintra gardens would be a recommendation. Guide Rodrigo was excellent.
A full day trip to Cascais and Sintra also included a stop at Cabo da Roca. Our guide and driver Rodrigo was superb. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about all of the areas we visited and for him nothing was too much trouble. We would thoroughly recommend this trip.
very good tour! I enjoy very much of Sintra and Cascais beautiful towns outside of Lisbon. Very well organized!
The leader John provided us with a lot of information on the places we visited and was very helpful and caring for those who had a slow pace. Overall it was interesting and fun! I recommend it.
Great places to see in terms of view, architecture and atmosphere when walking the small streets and alleys. No less important is the kindness of the local people and if you have a good guide that provides also the historic background and stories, it's a great experience.
This one day tour included all we wanted to see. Our guide Jaon was very knowledgeable and made sure we had some time to admire and appreciate beauty of each of these places. This is a fantastic tour if you have limited time and want to cover most of the places .
Thanks to Rui, our tour guide, the trip was great. He gave us a lot of information about Portugal and its history, took care of everyone, and had a great sense of humour. The car was brand new and we were 8 people in Rui’ s group. We had an hour of free time in Cascais and an hour and a half in Sintra. Also a lot of free time in Pena palace and we had a nice photo stop on the way to Cabo da Roca. Highly recommend!
