With limited time in Lisbon we wanted to make the most of it and this tour was perfect for us. Our guide, Luis Pinto Coelho, was unbelievably knowledgable about the history of his country, which suited us very well. We got to experience all the well-known sites of the city, plus others that you will never get to if you just take the buses. It was also an extremely hot day when we took this tour but we got to ride around in air-conditioned comfort. Luis was very personable and also ensured we had a chance to taste the famous Portuguese custard tarts (they are delicious) and suggested an excellent restaurant for lunch. All in all, a very good value and one to be recommended.
We were the only people on this tour and our guide Diogo came and picked us up from our hotel after which he introduced us to all the attractions of Lisbon. He was very informative and took us to the oldest restaurant in Lisbon and we had an excellent seafood lunch. Will highly recommend this tour.
We were fortunate to have Louis Pinto-Coelho as our tour guide. The tour began on time, actually 10 minutes early. He provided an excellent tour of the entire city of Lisbon. Louis gave an in depth and knowledgeable explanation of the history of Lisbon and for each site that we visited. At the end of the day, I felt that I had truly seen Lisbon! I highly recommend this tour and Louis Pinto-Coelho as a guide.
This was a great tour of Lisbon with just the four of us in a minivan, the guide spoke excellent English and we got to see great things.
We were met at our hotel by Diogo a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide. We began our tour with views of Lisbon from 3 different vantage points which provided perspective. We enjoyed the castle, cathedrals, expo and Belem Tower. We were introduced to local favorites, at Pasteis de Belem and delicious sea bass lunch in Praca de Comercio - Great Value ...highlight of our time in Lisbon
Our tour was challenged by the Lisbon Marathon, which has been held annually since 1986! In all races, road closures are posted ahead of time. However, my guide did not know where the road closures were, and how to get around them. To top it off, he refused to use Waze, which uses live traffic information from crowd sourcing. He only wanted to use Google Maps, which does not. Even when Google Maps took him in circles, he resorts to asking policeman for directions, over and over again, instead of using Waze. Anyway, since I don't know all the places we were suppose to go to, I don't know what I missed. I do know that we did not get to go to the oldest cafe in Lisbon for lunch. We did enjoy the hot Portuguese pastry from the best pastry shop in Lisbon. All in all, I still had a great time.
Andre was a very knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. He clearly knew Lisbon well. His humour added a light touch to the details - even in two languages. We travelled to the highest points that would have been difficult on foot. The people pickup and drop off to our apartment was great
We had a private tour with Andre and couldn't of had asked for a better guide to explore Lisbon. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and personable. My mom needs a cane to walk and he was extremely patient with her, making sure that she was comfortable the whole time. This was probably our fondest day of the entire trips, thanks Andre!
The private guide really helped to take us around to get an idea of the highlights and found out that we liked photography so he was very helpful to find the best views. His English was excellent and he provided a lot of historical perspective.
Andre was an exceptional tour guide. We throughly enjoyed the day.
