I was hesitant to book this tour due to some mixed reviews, but I am glad I did. Pick up was a little delayed, but not more than 15 minutes. Our guide, Danny, was EXCELLENT. He was so friendly and informative it made the whole trip come alive. He was very accommodating and made sure to keep the group on track. I did not feel rushed at the Dead Sea as others said, it was enough time.
Tour was good and history ifo was good...But, the Tour saud we had to eat at the Masada Restuarant, which would have been OK except...the sign giving price did not give good details...example...Mini Salad, whuich they had a small salad bar, maybe 8 items...25 shekels...got to register 45 shekels, the manager screamed at us saying that is not the mini salad...I got an small saucer of fries, he wanted me to pay 68 shekels...that is like $20 dollars...he said it was part of the large meal program and i would have to pay all of it...They charged us 64 shekels for 2 soft drinks and my wifes small salad...thats over $20 when it was over...I complained to my iGuide and the Guide had to tell the Masada Mnager to calm down...TAKE YOUR LUNCH...OH, MY WIFE WAS ONLY ABLE TO EAT 2 OF THE VEGGIES...OTHER NOT GOOD..Only 1 person on our tour bus said it was good to him...They were really busy for me to ask..i saw others ask questions in line and they were turned away...Ask later they said...very very rude...
It was an extremely hot day 108 f (about 42c) but our tour guide made it bearable. I thought we spent way too much time in Masada and not enough time at the Dead Sea. We were in the Dead Sea for a little bit over an hour. There was a lot to do there, drinks, food, sun bathing/relaxation. We ended up going into the sea for 10 minutes and by the time you walk back , shower, change , we only had about 20 minutes left. We were rushing to do other things that we wanted to do. Like grab a juice (there was a long line) and ride the camel. I think the time could be better managed between both places . We were also picked up about 45 min late , which didn’t help.
I had read some review about that such tour are rushed, but I was not taking this so much serious. Despite our guide Telma be a wonderful guide. The tour time schedule was very bad planned, and the tour was rushed. The problem is that it started to late and finished to early in the day. We had only 1h up in Massada, in 1:30h in Dead Sea. If you are able to drive and is not alone, I highly recommend to research about the history of the places in internet and to rent a car instead to book the tour.
Guide Isaac was the best, very efficient and eyes for detail. A happy champ who generated positive spirits! Masada was interesting and the views of the Dead Sea/ desert amazing. Swim in the Dead Sea a great experience. Only thing missing would be to stop a few times for photo shoots of the shore if the Dead Sea and show some of the salt crusts. I asked Isaac about it and he stopped at a view point. Thank you
This tour was well organized and the bus driver and tour guide were super helpful. We first drove to Masada and along the way the guide did a great job of pointing out other landmarks along the way. We spent about 75 minutes at the top of Masada. We had lunch there then continued on to the Dead Sea. We spent about 90 minutes here. There were towels available to rent and if you are purchasing Dead Sea salt I would recommend doing it here instead of the shop at Masada.
A very well-informed guide and an excellent driver. We learnt a lot of history which supplemented what we'd learnt at the Israel Museum the day before. Masada was amazing even though it was very hot!
Definely think Masada and the Dead Sea are musts on a trip to Israel. Guide was very knowledgeable. I did find trip too many hours. If you’re adventurous, it might be better to rent car and do yourself.
Masada and the Dead Sea are a must see in Israel and this tour did not disappoint us. We had another great guide with Ithamar friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. Masada is such an incredible site and so much history that it must be seen. We had the right amount of time to see it all. It is hot and there is walking so you need good light clothes and good walking shoes. The Dead Sea was fun as well but be forewarned that there is a lot of up and down walking to get there and come back. The water is very hot not not refreshing and it stings the eyes for sure. It's something worth experiencing for sure and we had enough time as you can't stay long in the water. Excellent day trip that I highly recommend.
This was an excellent day trip to Masada and the Dead Sea. The tour guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Time was allotted well and we did not feel rushed or bored. The only reason I didn't give it 5 starts was that I had thought I was booking a large coach bus (the kind that seats about two dozen and has a toilet at the back) and instead it was a small bus that seated about a dozen. The bus was comfortably air-conditioned and had USB power sockets, however, as I get car sick, I prefer a larger coach with bathroom facilities.
