HALBTÄGIGE STADTRUNDFAHRT DURCH HURGHADA

We did the half day Hurghada City tour during our holiday 23rd November to 30th November with Solar Empire Travel. Unfortunately, we had booked another trip through Solar Empire travel at the beginning of our holiday and we had experienced a few problems with them concerning pick up times for the Sindbad submarine trip. Sadly, we had the same sort of problems with them sorting out the Hurghada City tour. Firstly, I had tried 3 times to E-Mail them through their web site to confirm the exact pick up time. I never received a reply. After I arrived at the hotel I tried calling them from the reception. Six times I called and the phone wasnt answered but then on the seventh attempt I finally got a reply. However, they still couldnt confirm the pick-up time! I was told that they would leave a message for me at the reception with pick up details. They never left a message. I tried to call them a few times again on the day of the trip but still no one picked up the phone! We decided to wait at the front of the hotel at the pickup time of 2pm which was on the tickets. Thirty minutes later still no sign of Solar Empire Travel! My wife went back into the reception and finally got through to them after another couple of attempts. They said that the pick-up time would now be 4pm and that they had left a message at the reception with the new pick-up time. The people on the reception said that nothing had been received from them. The mini bus finally turned up just after 4pm. As it turned out my wife and I were the only two passengers on board! It was a poor trip and instead of sticking to a planned route the guide was constantly just asking us where we wanted to go next! We did the church, the fruit market and the mosque and then the marina. The big problem was that we only really booked this trip so that we could take plenty of photos around the old town, markets and marina. Getting picked up at 4pm wasnt really any good to us as it was dark in less than 90 minutes making decent pictures impossible! The guide did try and give us some information especially inside the mosque but I just felt that his heart wasnt really in it! We were back at the hotel for 6.15pm and thats after sitting in a lot of traffic coming out of Hurghada. Just felt that the whole trip was a waste of time and money but maybe it could be more enjoyable with a different company!
