Stop At: Hue Imperial City (The Citadel), Hue Vietnam

Our private Hue Full Day City Tour has to start at the amazing 19th century Citadel of Hue which surrounds the original Imperial City, the Purple Forbidden Palace and various ancient monuments. More recently in 1968, and during the Tet Offensive, the most famous “Battle of Hue” resulted in enormous damage to both the city and Citadel – you will see signs of this and rebuilding works to this day.

Stop At: Thien Mu Pagoda, Kim Long Road, Hue Vietnam

We must eventually leave the Citadel of Hue and its intriguing history to visit the very special Thien Mu (Heavenly Lady) pagoda overlooking the Perfume River which at 7 stories high originally built in 1601. If time permits we will arrange a private Dragon boat trip along the Perfume River from city to Pagoda for you to enjoy the peaceful vibe of the city from the boat. This comes with an extra charge of $15/ single boat, please note to us.

Returning to Hue city we visit Bun Bo Ly Thuong Kiet, an amazing Hue local restaurant where you can try Bun Bo Hue. It is a must-eat Hue specialty that you have to try while in the city.

In the later half of your Private Hue Full Day City Tour, we will take you to visit Tu Duc royal tomb. There are 7 Hue Imperial tombs built by the Nguyen kings along the Perfume River and in the surrounding countryside. Located in a narrow valley 8 km from Hue in Duong Xuan Thuong village, Tu Duc’s tomb is one of the most beautifully designed complexes and is embedded in a lush pine forest. Together with my team, you will hear story of Emperor Tu Duc and admire his quiet and peaceful work of art.

You will also have chance to visit the Incense village and make yourself this craft work.

The Art of Discipline

Minh Mang Tomb is about 20 kilometer away from Hue Center. The red and yellow lacquer building combined with the straight line of palaces will speak a lot about the Emperor’s personality himself.
