Connemara National Park und Kylemore Abbey – Tagesausflug ab Galway

I really wish I could give this tour a better rating, because the scenery was beautiful, the places we stopped were interesting, and the guide was very knowledgeable. However, the bus was so horrible that I could never recommend it. Picture the amount of room you have in an airline seat, then divide that by half. I'm 5'8" tall, and my knees were jammed into the seat in front of me. I was sitting on the aisle, and I basically spent the entire time twisted in strange contortions, with one or two legs hanging into the aisle, trying to find a comfortable position. My son, who is 6'2", was also on the aisle and was equally miserable. The two people we were sitting next to, in the window seats, were also contorted. I can't even begin to describe how uncomfortable it was. At one point, my mom (who is 5'4"), moved her body from right to left. Her knee banged into the seat in front of her so hard that it ripped the skin off her knee through her pants. I had to get a first aid kit from the driver at the next stop, because the blood was soaking through her pants and dripping down in into her socks. In addition, we met the bus at the meeting point rather than being picked up at our hotel like the other riders, and by that time the bus was basically full so we couldn't get four seats together. The kids in the seat next to us talked LOUDLY the entire time, having zero interest in what the guide was saying over the intercom system. Because this was a group tour, there was zero flexibility in how long we stayed at each stop. I don't usually book group tours, but I made an exception for this one due to the excellent review. I wish I hadn't. This was a physically miserable day for all of us.

Great guide and the highlight was the Abbey for us. Could have stayed there a lot longer Guided helped out by selling entry to Abbey in van But could have just included that in price, no?

This was our first tour in Ireland and probably one of our favorites! We had a great guide, Pete, who was a wealth of information and made the trip so much fun! We were able to get some beautiful scenic stops in. My husband and I stopped at Connemara for a few hours, which left time for a hike and ssome coffee at the little cafe. This was such a memorable tour!

We had Shamus as our driver and guide and he was AWESOME!!so nice and informative and would stop when we wanted to snap a couple extra pictures. We only had about 15 people on this tour and it was great. Would definitely go again with Shamus...Shout out to Shamus..you were awesome.

Most of us visited Connemara National Park while a few of us went to Kylemore Abbey. We were given the opportunity to hike up to the summit of Diamond Hill. Not a very steep climb nor muddy but wet in some places. For those who went to Connemara, they did have the opportunity to see Kylemore Abbey for a photo stop. I have done Kylemore Abbey before but never the national park.

It is the perfect excursion if you don't want to rush and have a day in the nature. There are several stops in fisher villages and interesting places with very nice views. After this you can spend a couple of hours in Connemara National Park which is enough for a nice walk up to the peak. The guide guy was very quiet and gave us nice advises and good history review.

Great tour and our guide was very nice, knowledgeable and informative about the the history and the area. Beautiful scenery and he even showed us where and how peat was obtained! We got to see the crazy sheep and lots of ponies. The Abby was beautiful but be aware the outside is under restoration so half is covered in scaffolding but still a very beautiful place. The country side was beautifu!!! Well worth the trip and it was nice not to have to drive and just observe the scenery.
