Die Tour beginnt um 8:30 Uhr von 521 Lawnmarket, Edinburgh, EH1 2PE. Im Sommer ist der erste Halt Midhope Castle (April bis September), auch bekannt als Outlander's Lallybroch Castle für Fotos. Im Winter ist der erste Halt des Tages Doune Castle (nur Oktober bis März), Heimat von Outlanders Clan MacKenzie. Im Anschluss an den Outlander-Trail geht es weiter zum Blackness-Schloss, bekannt in der beliebten TV-Serie als Sitz von Black Jack Randall. Halten Sie hier für 45 Minuten, um die mächtige Festungsanlage, die beschrieben wurde als „ein Schiff, das nie segelte“, zu erkunden. Genießen Sie den Blick auf Firth of Forth.

Der nächste Halt ist in der kleinen Stadt Linlithgow. Hier haben Sie Zeit, um die Stadt zu erkunden und den Linlithgow-Palast zu besuchen, wenn Sie möchten. Das Schloss war Outlanders „Wentworth Gefängnis“ und liegt in einer wunderschönen Umgebung. Es wurde auch als entspannender Rückzugsort für die königliche Familie verwendet, wenn sie reiste zwischen Edinburgh und Stirling Castle.

Dann geht es weiter zum Callander House. Das große Haus ist heute ein Museum und stammt aus dem 14. Jahrhundert; die Küche wurde verwendet als Kulisse für das Haus von Herzog von Sandringham. Genießen Sie die wunderschöne Umgebung für etwa 45 Minuten, bevor es weitergeht nach Culross.

Die königliche Burgh von Culross ist ein malerisches Dorf, eingebettet an der Küste von Firth of Forth. Seine alten Häuser bieten ein hervorragendes Beispiel für das Leben Schottlands im 17. Jahrhundert. Besuchen Sie Mercat Cross, ein Drehort für Outlanders „Cranesmuir Village“ und sehen Sie die Gärten des Schlosses, die als Claires Kräutergarten verwendet wurden. Sie haben Zeit für Erfrischungen hier im niedlichen Biscuit Cafe, bevor Sie eine Pause für Fotos an Tuilyies stehenden Steinen machen, wenn es die Zeit zulässt.

Der letzte Halt des Tages ist Hopetoun House (nur April bis Oktober). Das 17. Jahrhundert herrschaftliche Anwesen wurde als Haus von Herzog von Sandringham in Outlander verwendet. Genießen Sie hier Zeit zum Erkunden von Haus und Gelände, bevor wir nach Edinburgh zurückkehren.

This was a great tour to see various Outlander filming locations. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we saw visited 14 plus filming sights. We also learned more of the history between the Jacobite's and the English war. Highly recommend.

Timber bush tour well done! Marty the Jacobite was extremely knowledgeable in Jacobite time period history and was a great host. Enjoyed all the sites we visited along the way including Lalllybroch, Linlithgow Palace, Blackness Castle, Culross and Sandringham House. Bus ride very comfortable.

Excellent tour and the guide was amusing and very informative. Seeing some of the history and castles on this tour was fantastic. If you are an Outlander fan this is a must.

We loved our guide Gillian. She had loads of Outlander facts and some Scottish history mixed in. She made enough time in all the stops and a few extra quick photo stops. The coach was nice and the group was small about 13 people. I would say this is a day we’ll spend if you are in Edinburgh :)

My 18 daughter and I were in Scotland for a week. She is a big outlander fan and convinced me this would be fun. It was! I have never seen the show but I learned so much from our guild Tonks. She explained a great deal of Scottish history and pointed out various sights around Edinburgh. She also must be a fan of Outlander because she kept my daughter and other fans on our bus interested. The coach we road in was roomy and comfortable. We left on time and returned on time. This tour is not just for fans of Outlander. We stopped at 3 castles that were all different and cool. We had enough time to walk the grounds and never felt rushed. I would recommend this tour to anyone, families included. I had a blast. Really take the tour. Thanks Tonks.

Andrew T was an amazing tour guide, he was very friendly and seemed like he really cared that people enjoyed themselves. He was also conscientious of the time we had at each place and made sure he counted us before taking off. I would definitely take this tour again and can only hope Andrew T would be our guide again.

The guide was friendly, but did not go with us to the castles. He parked the bus and showed us where to go. That was all. I thought He would go with us.

My husband, 8 other friends and I really enjoyed this tour, lead by Andrew. We we're blessed with fabulous weather. Andrew was very clear on what we were doing, how long we were staying at each site. Andrew was skilled at weaving the history of Scotland with the specifics of Outlander. He clearly is a fan. Some of the sites cost additional money, but you get a cost reduction for being on tour. We paid nothing due to having a Scotland Explorer pass. Even my husband loved this tour. I recommend it as a great value and lots of fun. Thank you Andrew!!

Andrew was our driver/guide. He met us dressed in a kilt with all the trimmings. He added so much to our tour with his knowledge and friendly persona. We had a ball! If you're an Outlander fan, don't miss this!
