Diese Kleingruppentour beginnt früh an einem zentralen Ort in Edinburgh, um dem Verkehr auf der Fahrt nach Westen zuvor zu kommen. Die Fahrt geht über Glasgow, wo weitere Passagiere an Bord kommen. Dann geht es in das Museumdorf Luss in der Nähe des Loch Lomond, dem größten Süßwasser-Loch in ganz Britannien. Nehmen Sie sich Zeit und genießen Sie die Landschaft, bevor die Tour weitergeht, in das Herz der Highlands hinein.
Fahren Sie entlang der gespenstisch schönen Ruinen des Kilchum Castle am Ufer von Loch Awe und hören Sie Geschichten über den Campbell-Clan, der das Gebiet einst als sein eigen beansprucht hat. Bei Loch Awe kam es auch zu der Schlacht bei Brander, wo Robert the Bruce (Schottlands heroischen König) einst viele heftige Kämpfe ausgetragen hat.
Sie erreichen den viktorianischen Küstenort Oban am frühen Nachmittag und haben die Möglichkeit, frische Meeresfrüchte in dem als "Scottish Seafood Capital" bekannten Ort zu genießen! Nach dem Mittagessen empfiehlt sich ein Spaziergang zum McCaig-Turm, einem Meisterwerk aus Granit, das die Skyline der Stadt seit 1895 dominiert. Lassen Sie sich durch den langen Weg nach oben nicht entmutigen! Sie werden durch spektakuläre Ausblicke über das Meer auf die Insel Mull belohnt.
Auf der Rückfahrt nach Edinburgh machen wir Pause in Inverarary, einem malerischen Dorf am Ufer von Loch Fyne, das für seine hübschen, weißen Häuser bekannt ist. Hier haben Sie Zeit zur freien Verfügung und können einige der lokal hergestellten Süßigkeiten probieren, bevor Sie durch die schottische Landschaft, reich an Mythen und Legenden, zurück nach Edinburgh fahren.

Overall the trip was ok, only thing is that I just wished there was a little more time in Oban. An 1 1/2 is just not enough to do the Oban distillery and see other attractions in the town.

Our driver Norman needed to talk loader even after being told 3 times by different people during our trip. Also he needed more personality. Could do with making some 10minute stops for photos as it is a long trip. Other then that the trip was nice.

A nice day, despite the rain. The stops were nice, but more time needs to be spent in Oban. Having a little over an hour to have lunch and take in the sights was definitely not doable. Traffic was a little heavy going through the preserve but that should be taken into account by the operator. We were able to get up to McCaigs Tower and a quick drink in the Oban Distillery before we had to rush to catch the bus.

The trip included a lot of interesting stops, especially in Inveraray. The highlight of the trip was definitely Oban. There were a lot of great seafood options available and the views from McCaig's Tower were amazing!

A day being driven down the interstate to Oban, then an hour for lunch and back on the bus and down the interstate. There were a few short stops for scenery views, but not many and not great views. You also stop at a castle for about 20 minutes which was probably the best part, but not good enough to justify this trip.

The length of the trip was just right. Our guide was accomodating and knowledgable. He greeted us warmly as we joined the group. It was a small group tour and it felt cozy. We weren't rushed but there were times when the driver guide was late to show up. At Oban, we had a short lunch break. It would be appreciated if he had shown us where the seafood place that visitors would usually go. I managed to discover that place after i had my lunch. Thank god i found it. Thats the reason why i jpined the trip! To satisfy my craving for some seafood!! The weather then was rainy and mostly wet. We went to the the castle where Downtown Abbey was filmed and the group split up. As i was a solo traveller, at times, i felt as though i had been left behind. I panicked a little. I had to walk quite a distance to the pick up point which the driver had shown us earlier, past a very quiet path, with no other visitors and cars in sight. The driver just left us on our own, which was ok if it wasnt raining. Otherwise, the drive to the west highlands was extremely breath-taking. There were many tree tunnels, just like the ones illustrated in the fairy tales. We did see the hairy coos, shaun the sheep and probably many other inspired cartoon characters thats familliar to some of us. Recoomended to go if thats the only time you have in the highlands.
