3 Tage Isle of Skye, Loch Ness und schottische Highlands ab Edinburgh
1. Tag
Die 3-tägige Skye-Tour beginnt um 9:00 Uhr von der Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Reisen Sie durch Glasgow, um die Glasgow-Passagiere abzuholen, und beginnen Sie eine Reise in die wunderschönen schottischen Highlands. Der erste Halt des Tages ist das kleine Dorf Luss an den schönen Ufern des Loch Lomond. Nehmen Sie sich Zeit und genießen Sie den wunderschönen Blick über einen der größten Seen in Schottland, bevor Sie weiter nach Norden reisen.
In Richtung Norden via Tyndrum passieren Sie das stimmungsvolle Rannoch Moor, bevor Sie im dramatischen Glencoe die Zeit genießen; Stelle des Massakers von 1692 des MacDonald Clans, sowie Kulisse im James-Bond-Film Skyfall. Nach dem Mittagessen in einem traditionellen Highland-Dorf machen Sie Pause für Fotos am höchsten Berg Großbritanniens, Ben Nevis, dann machen Sie Halt und bewundern Glen Garry. Vom rechten Aussichtspunkt sieht der See aus wie die Form von Schottland!
Anschließend geht es vorbei an den atemberaubenden Fünf Schwestern der Kintail-Bergkette und Sie fahren über die Brücke zur Isle of Skye. Der erste Tag endet im idyllischen Dorf, wo Sie Ihr Fahrer-Reiseleiter zu Ihrer Unterkunft bringt.
2. Tag
Nach dem Frühstück, Abfahrt von Portree für einen ganzen Tag auf der wunderschönen schottischen Insel. Heute ist der Reiseplan flexibel; Sie können das magische Fairy Glen, Dunvegan Castle* und Kilt Rock besuchen. Vielleicht machen Sie lieber einen Spaziergang zum malerischen Lealt Falls oder erfahren mehr über die Geschichte des legendären Schotten, Flora Macdonald und die einzigartigen schwarzen Häuser. Diskutieren Sie diese Optionen und mehr mit Ihrem Fahrer-Reiseleiter am Tag. Nach einem ganzen Tag auf der Insel kehren Sie nach Portree zurück für die Nachtruhe.
3. Tag
Beginnen Sie den dritten und letzten Tag beim viel bewunderten und fotografierten Eilean Donan-Schloss*. Das Schloss ist die Kulisse für viele Filme, darunter „Highlander“. Es geht weiter zum Dorf Fort Augustus für ein Mittagessen und einen fantastischen Blick über Loch Ness; vielleicht erhaschen Sie einen Blick auf das berühmte Monster! Unsere Reise Richtung Süden geht weiter über Laggan und die Grampian Mountains, letzter Halt des Tages ist im viktorianischen Städtchen Pitlochry. Danach kehren Sie nach Edinburgh zurück, überqueren den Firth of Forth, wo Sie die berühmten Forth-Brücken sehen. Ihre Tour endet um ca. 19:30 Uhr.

It is a whirlwind tour on which I saw a great deal of Scotland, northwest of Edinburgh. The scenery through which the bus travels is breathtaking, and I got to see quite a few places in the course of 3 days. Maybe 3 days is not enough, so I would treat this tour as a taste of places you might want to return to without a bus full of people. Because of the distance covered, I spent entirely too much time on a bus, with no opportunity to hike or explore. I would suggest that Timberbush provide an exact itinerary, as the driver seemed to be making it up as he drove, especially on Skye, where there was little time to stop and walk. Dunvegan Castle was on the original advertisement for the trip, but I had to convince the driver to take us there. He said, "We're going to a castle tomorrow," as if all castles were the same. Well, to a resident, maybe they are, but to a tourist who has read some history, a castle occupied for most of its time and one destroyed and rebuilt are 2 different things, both of them worth visiting, which is, eventually, what we did. I wish that our driver had stuck to a more informational patter. He disturbed many of the women in the bus by making sexist comments. Drivers should stick to the facts and legends of the areas they are driving through and to; I did not appreciate his political opinions any more than his sexist comments. It would have been a more pleasant tour if I did not have to be insulted every time a woman came up in history. As for hiking the highlands, forget about it. There was no time. Also, do not go on a Sunday. Everything is closed on Sunday on Skye. I would like to have known that in advance.
We had a great time on our 3 day tour and saw some breathtaking spots in the highlands and on the Isle of Skye. Our guide Martin S. was super friendly and knew all the best secret spots and activities. He could answer all our questions perfectly and had a great taste in Scottish music :)
Martin was an excellent tour guide. He provided a great deal of history and local lore in understandable chunks so that you could really take in what you were seeing and get the full experience. The trip was a great success. Would definitely travel with Martin again. Scotland is a beautiful country. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to visit. Overall I would recommend that the first night's dinner is set up in advance. Portree is experiencing serious overbooking with the number of tourists and restaurants just could not accommodate everyone.
Our tour guide Graham was truly fantastic in every way. He obviously loved what he does, and it showed in all that he did on this 3 day tour. I wish I had an hour to write up a review that would do justice to how fantastic our tour was. That said, I would rather leave a review than never get around to doing it for the sake of time now that I'm back in the rat race off of our vacation. He went above and beyond to make this trip enjoyable. He was knowledgeable on little facts of interest, played music for us that associated with different places. My wife was about 25 weeks along, and he made sure to look our for her as well. Also took time to discuss places to eat, the culture, etc. He truly looked out for us and our needs over the 3 days. Everywhere we went everyone knew him. He was polite, and kind in every way. I obviously can't vouch for all their tour guides, but if they're half as good as Graham, they'd still deserve 5 stars. I've had very few experiences that matched the level that was had with this tour. Very solid I would book with this company again. I've been recommending them to all of my friends and family since we got back. He made what would have been a great trip fantastic. Highly recommend. I'm hoping to get a group together and request that the tour company assign Graham to our group. That said, I'd book with them again regardless based on my experience.
The guide is really nice! We enjoyed the stories and tales he told. I felt that we spent too much time in the car and would like to have more small walkings.
