This was a great time! The beach where they are is beautiful. The horses are beautiful! The path is not too long and not too short. There is a small portion where you walk on the white sand where you can see the beach. The staff there is great and very friendly as well as helpful. Highly recommend it if you like doing outdoorsy activities. It is very beautiful.
This was the best horseback ride ever... Horseback riding through the jungle was serenity. The instructors were amazing. Everybody was friendly.
This is a very hard one to rate. The people who conduct the horseback riding part were excellent. Very knowledgeable and patient. My teenage sons and I felt very safe, and we have only been on horseback a few times. The horses are beautiful and kind. However, if you are going because you want to see sites along the way, you may be disappointed. Yes, you do go through the jungle, but on a well-worn path, and there isn't much to see. You will go on the beach, but only for about 15 minutes of the hour and a half that you are on horseback. I appreciate that these people and the horses work hard at what they do. The lead guide was very friendly and made sure that everyone was comfortable and doing well. There were quite a few children on the ride, and they all enjoyed it. I would recommend the tour if you have young children. I just don't know what to say about there being little to see. I give this four stars solely based on the people and horses that gave us the tour. Some notes: - The description for the tour said there was nowhere to change in order to go swimming afterwards. This wasn't the case. The place you will be taken - about 40 minutes from our hotel - is very accommodating. There are bathrooms, showers and lockers for your stuff. - Because quite a few other people on the tour arrived late, we got a later start than I would have liked. We were told we would head over to the horses about noon, but stragglers kept coming in well after that time, and we had to wait for them. Not the tour's fault. So, we got on the horses about 12:45 pm and rode until about 2:15 pm. Once we got everyone off the horses and back to the restaurant, we only had 20 minutes until our ride came to pick us up at 3 pm. There was no time to swim or do anything else. - The snack included in the tour was chips, salsa and black beans. Very good. It also includes soda, but make sure you ask for that without ice if you are trying to avoid drinking the water! If we had more time, we could have gone ahead and paid for lunch there - it is a restaurant. But again, there was no time. - If you want a simple, peaceful adventure - especially if you have young children - this is a nice little trip.
Although we are pretty sure we were taken to the WRONG horseback riding excursion, Nina and her staff were amazing. We had to contact Olympus Tours 3 times and we were still taken to wrong one. Four goes to the staff to where we were taken. 0 stars for wrong trip
Amazing time!!!
I recently vacationed in Rivera Maya and took the horse back riding tour. The people are so friendly and I loved the singing of the one gentlemen as we strolled along the trail. I was hoping we would ride directly on the beach but we didn't. Other than that I enjoyed my time spent here.
This was my first time doing horseback riding and I never felt scared! It was a great experience.
The horses were nice and well kept. The primary guide was helpful. Riding horses is always enjoyable to me. However, the tour was not as described. It lasted 1.5 hours and was primarily through the mangroves in a big loop. Unfortunately, it never went on the beach as described or shown in the pictures. Instead, it went through a construction zone in the back of a hotel/resort. It was not scenic at all when we were somewhat near the beach and included not-so-lovely views of electrical wires, hazardous materials and a boat graveyard. We never actually saw the ocean. We crossed an active parking lot. My horse was crossing right behind a large truck when it started up. Was concerned that he was going to spook the horse or back up into us. Apparently, they haven't been able to go on the beach for 8 years. Therefore, there is no reason to still be showing pictures of horses on a beach in the advertisement. Cut some more trails through the mangroves and avoid the construction area - update the advertisement - It will be a better tour and no one will be dissappointed. Don't bother with all of the pictures - especially when most of them are taken in the construction area but conveniently taking them in front of the random palm tree.
