A WONDERFUL day for the 6 (60-something) of us. Beautiful countryside views. All agreed the Carrick-a-Rede was the highlight (maybe the best in our 12 day cruise). Be aware the walk down to the bridge is a long one and the trip back up was difficult with knee issues. Not for the "completely out of shape folks". The Causeway was gorgeous (again a long walk) and we had a lovely lunch/pint in the charming little restaurant. Later in the day had some free time and we found a cute little locals pub. James the young barkeep was very engaging! Would recommend this trip 100% "Harbour Bar"
This was a great day excursion. The small bus (14 people) picked us up at the Cruise port. Everything went smoothly. Had a great tour guide. Knowledgeable and funny. beautiful scenery on the way to the Causeway. Causeway and cliffs were fantastic. stopped in a small village to eat lunch. Dis a little Belfast tour on the way back. I highly recommend this tour.
We were lucky to have an absolutely beautiful day in August for our tour. Stephen was entertaining and informative. We saw such amazing, beautiful sights! Loved that entrance fees were included, only extras were to cross rope bridge and for a guided walk at Giants Causeway. This was perfect, since everyone did not want to do these things. So much better than the ship tour - and a fraction of the price!
What a great itinerary with an excellent guide Martin, who was very informative with a sense of humour. Finished off with a coastal drive and a tour around Belfast. Highly recommend.
- Prebooked this excellent tour for family of 4 including kids of 11 and 7, and easily found Odyssey upon disembarking our Princess cruise ship. - Guide Martin was incredible. His goal is to give guests a complete overview of Northern Ireland and I think he did a great job. He speaks frankly about politics, Brexit, etc. Driving through the 'peace walls' in Belfast with Martin's introduction was great. I learned so much. - Bus was comfortable, we had about 30 people in a bus with capacity for about 50. - Schedule was tight. At Giant's Causeway we utilized the guide recommended by Martin. She stopped frequently and gave a lot of information on the way down the hill, so we only had about 15 min down on the rocks before needing to walk back up to the get back on the bus on time. Not a big deal but be aware that if the Causeway is the only thing you want to see, this might not be the tour for you. Thanks Martin and Odyssey!
The tour was fascinating and unusual. As elderly people, we didn’ do the hike to the rope bridge which was also not to easy to see from where we had to stop.
Despite the late start due to inconsiderate late/no shows, we had a wonderful day on this comfortable small coach. Our driver was flexible, got us to the Giant’s Causeway before the crowds, recommended a great pub for lunch, added a stop at Bushmills, and gave us a revealing tour of Belfast and the history of the Troubles.
Martin led an amazing all day tour of Belfast, the Giant’s Causeway, the rope bridge, and a beautiful coastal drive. Martin is a retired history teacher who loves to share his knowledge of Northern Ireland and we learned a lot from his tour. Highly recommend!!!!!!
We booked a day tour of the Belfast area off a cruise ship. There were 44 of us on the comfortable bus. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative and had great English. The sound system was excellent. The causeway was amazing and the other sights very interesting. The only drawback was the rain that started while we were at the Causeway. The allotted time there could have been shorter due to the rain. It was a great day though and a very good value.
This tour took us everywhere it promised and the driver and guide were excellent. However, because this was a tour that was being undertaken by cruise ship passengers there was a a lot of competition with other tours to get to the 2 main stops on the itinerary. Our biggest complaint was not getting to the village for lunch until 3 o'clock but that was caused, once again, by people not getting back to the bus at the stipulated time and also a short hold up due to a road accident. On any other day this would be a great Odyssey tour and possibly with a smaller bus but late people and late lunch spoilt our day. The drive back down the coast was absolutely beautiful and I wish there was a way of taking great photos from a bus!!
Paul B was a very informative and entertaining driver. My grandmother has issues walking and he was courteous in accommodating her as well. He made sure to keep the tour on schedule in order to make it back to the ship in plenty of time. I only wish we could have stopped for more pictures of the castles and villages we passed through during our scenic drive along the coast. Extra communication on the timing of the pick up in port prior to arrival would be helpful as well.
Guide Gail was a huge disappointment. Read off a canned script, had very little of interest to say...other that bragging of some folks she knows.... She spent more time selling us other tour guide services at Giants Causeway and a lunch she organized than she did talking about the sights and attractions we were passing, she read off a script while we drove thru Belfast. Would NOT recommend this tour if you were truly interested in history and life in Northern Ireland.
Tour guide, Gail - and driver Steve, were a lovely combo to take us about the Northern Coast of Ireland. Both individuals offered added insights, stories and knowledge to enhance our time. The sights and scenery were unbelievably beautiful. Definitely bring cash to pay for entrance tickets to the various sights. We weren't expecting as much.
What was supposed to be a small tour group turned out to be a 40 passenger bus. We were told to disembark the cruise ship quickly yet the guide waited over an hour for two people. we finally left without them but the delay caused us to miss a large portion of the tour. We did not get a tour of Belfast and we did not have time for the scheduled lunch stop at a local pub. We never got the tour tickets for the Giants Causeway but instead the tour guide had us pay extra for a walk with a guide. The entire journey on the bus was in silence. The tour guide did very little talking about Belfast or the sights we were passing by.
Awesome Shore Excursion Value for $ Very organized you get picked up right at the port, guide is very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. Almost half the price than what the cruise ships offer.
I wish I remember our tour guides name. He was the best - really provided interesting information even gave us 2pounds to take the shuttle from the bottom of the Causeway when we only had American dollars - when's the last time you had that happen! Fantastic suggestions for where to lunch. This was one of our best guides and the day and what we saw was fantastic.
Our tour guide Martin was great. What a history buff. He was very good about telling us the history of every spot we stopped at. Be prepared to "walk" to the Giants Causeway. There is a shuttle, but walking is the best. We stopped at the Diamond Bar in Ballycastle for lunch. Order the fish and chips. To die for. The size of a whale. But the tour was made wonderful by the excellent commentary by Martin.
Though we booked this tour we did not take it as we missed it due to various reasons. We were lucky to get two seats on another tour and had a fantastic day. However, the tour company agreed to give us a partial refund which we were happy with and this was processed very promptly through Viator Customer Care. So thanks to both companies.
The trip out to the Causeway is boring except for stopping at the little village for lunch, nice break and very good lunch.. Once at Causeway parking the tour bus not a very go setup. After getting the bus it is quite a good walk to the causeway. If you want to ride down you have to wait in a long line to catch the bus. I did enjoy seeing the causeway great area for taking pictures. Going to the swinging bridge is better organized and good parking area, again quite a bit of walking to the bridge. We didn't have any spare time after walking down to the bridge to check out the shops
This was an awesome shore excursion. Much more affordable than the cruise price and we saw more, including tickets came with paid excursion and time to cross the bridge and plenty of time at the Causeway. Most other tours cautioned on being able to cross the bridge but with this tour, we were able to do it, which was amazing. Tour also included drive through Belfast city to see the murals which was an added bonus. I would highly recommend!
Amazing! Worth every penny. Loved our guide
