Der Teil der Chinesischen Mauer bei Huanghuacheng befindet sich ungefähr 60 km von Peking entfernt im Bezirk Huairou. Er wurde nach den üppigen gelben Chrysanthemen (auf Chinesisch: Huang Hua) so benannt, die im Hochsommer blühen. Er wird auch die Chinesische Mauer unter dem Wasser genannt, weil drei verschiedene Abschnitte der Mauer unter der Wasseroberfläche des Reservoirs von Xishuiyu liegen. Dieser Teil der Chinesischen Mauer ist für seine harmonische Mischung aus prächtiger Mauer, schönen Bergen und blauem Wasser berühmt.
Ihr professioneller Reiseleiter wird Sie um 8:00 Uhr in der Lobby Ihres Hotels treffen und in einem Privatfahrzeug nach Huanghuacheng bringen (1,5 Stunden Fahrt). Nach der Ankunft werden Sie Ihre Wanderung auf einem Bergpfad antreten und nach ungefähr 15 Minuten die Chinesische Mauer erreichen. Dieser Abschnitt der Chinesischen Mauer wurde auf der Grundlage des ursprünglichen Stils renoviert und ist steil und gefährlich.
Auf keiner Seite befinden sich Brüstungen. Folgen Sie dem Grat nach oben, von wo aus Sie einen Blick aus der Vogelperspektive auf das Reservoir werfen können und eine spektakuläre Aussicht auf die Chinesische Mauer am Berg und im See haben. Danach werden Sie auf dem ursprünglichen wilden Teil der Mauer nach unten wandern. Die Wanderung dauert insgesamt 5 bis 6 Stunden, und Mittagessen ist bei dieser Tour im Preis inbegriffen (das Mittagessen beginnt um 14:00 Uhr, und falls Sie schon vorher hungrig werden, erhalten Sie einige kostenlose kleine Zwischenmahlzeiten). Wenn die Tour zu Ende ist, wird Ihr professioneller Reiseleiter Sie wieder nach Peking zurückbringen.

Great experience! Definitely the best I've done in my trip to China. The view is amazing as expected and almost no people during the hike - feels like an exclusive location. Part of this section wall hasn't been renovated and part has been slighty, which is great as it still has an authentic feel to it - because of this good footwear and trousers are a must! The tour unfolded exactly as the itinerary says, drive to and from the wall was comfortable - nice car, safe driving and I can imagine it would be virtually impossible to get there without knowing the way. My tour guide was Tony and he was fantastic, really have to thank him alot for this experience. Very friendly and knew alot of the wall's history and particularites - very nice to chat with during the hike, and his english is excellent. At the end of tour we stopped at a restaurant at one of the villages close to the wall and food was excellent aswell - typical chinese food and felt like homemade food. It was better than the fancier restaurants you find in the bigger cities. Definitely recommend this tour!

This was a great trip done on our time at our pace. The service and lunch was great. Our personal guide was very knowledgable about the wall. I learned several new details that were fascinating about the history of the Great Wall. I have been to Beijing twice before and was looking for a different experience for the Great Wall. This was by far awesome, but would have liked the option of going to the lake to capture the wall going into the lake. I would do this type of trip again.

If you're an adventurer and want to get away from tourism crowds, this is the trip for you! The day planned unraveled exactly as the itinerary stated. The tour guide and driver were very professional, with plenty of information, and always had my safety as a top priority. This was the best way to experience the Great Wall. I could have hiked 10km more! It's rigorous, fun, and unforgettable.

This was an awesome trip! Our tour guide, Miko called the night before to confirm our meeting time and place. He was right on time. Due to the excessive heat, we decided it was best to do half the hike 5 km rather than the 10 or so planned. The ride to and from the wall was beautiful. The views on the hike were incredible and lunch was excellent. I highly recommend this tour.

This is without doubt the best way to see the wall. Our guide Daniel was outstanding. There is a 1.5 - 2 hour drive from the centre of Beijing which Daniel filled with a comprehensive historical background on China and the wall. You start the trek on a refurbished part of the wall and the views within minutes are incredible. The best part - no people! That makes for some great photos and a far more peaceful and authentic experience. The trek lasts around 4 hours and covers both new and old sections of the wall. Good footwear is a must! There is a great lunch at the end and even a certificate as a souvenir. This was the best thing we did in Beijing - book it!

James gave a great tour. This was a lovely section, mostly wild and very few people. James adjusted his pace to suit us easily and was always courteous. He nearly got in a fight with one peddler trying to sell us trinkets, but he told us to go on. Best of all, the lunch was the best we had on the trip. We would certainly take a tour with James again the next time we visit.
